  • LabVIEW Application Builder Module
  • NI License Manager
  • LabVIEW

I have purchased and installed the Application Builder Toolkit for LabVIEW. How do I activate it so I can begin using it?

Complete the following steps to activate Application Builder:

  1. Install the LabVIEW Development System (Full or Base)
  • Note: LabVIEW Application Builder (and other LabVIEW modules) are LabVIEW version-specific and will show up under the LabVIEW version that matches the module version installed. If you have multiple versions of LabVIEW, check the version of Application Builder you installed to determine where the add-on will show up within License Manager.
  1. Open the NI License Manager (Start»Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager)
  2. In NI License Manager, navigate to Local Licenses»LabVIEW <Version>»Toolkits.
  3. Right-click on Application Builder and choose Activate as shown below. Note: If LabVIEW is already installed and you do not see the Application Builder listed, please repair the LabVIEW installation by following the steps in this article: Repair Software In NI Package Manager (NIPM).
  4. Use your Application Builder Serial Number to activate. Note that your LabVIEW Serial Number cannot be used to activate the application builder.

Additional Information

  • You must have the same versions of LabVIEW and Application Builder. LabVIEW must be installed before you can use Application Builder.
  • LabVIEW Professional Development System has Application Builder included, so no separate activation is required. Activating LabVIEW Professional Development System will activate Application Builder.
  • If you have LabVIEW Full or Base and purchased LabVIEW Application Builder separately, you will have two unique serial numbers. One will activate LabVIEW, while the other will activate the Application Builder Toolkit.
  • It may be necessary to wait for 2 to 3 minutes for the activation to go through. It sometimes takes additional time for the system to process and activate your licensing.
