Activating LabVIEW Application Builder

You have purchased and installed the Application Builder Module for LabVIEW. How do you activate it so you can begin using it? 

This article will guide you through the activation process of the Application Builder Module.

  • LabVIEW Base and Full: Require you to buy additional license to activate the Application Builder. You will get two Serial Number, one for activationg LabVIEW and another for activating Application Builder.
  • LabVIEW Professional: Includes with Application Builder license. Only one Serial Number, to activate LabVIEW and Application Builder.

Complete the following steps to activate the LabVIEW Application Builder Module:

LabVIEW Base and Full:

  1. Make sure you have the LabVIEW Development System installed and activated.
  • LabVIEW modules like Application Builder are specific to the LabVIEW version installed.
  • If you have multiple LabVIEW versions, check which version of Application Builder you installed to find it in License Manager.
  • If you don’t see Application Builder in LabVIEW, try repairing your LabVIEW installation: Repair Software In NI Package Manager (NIPM).
  1. Depending on your situation, select the appropriate activation procedure from the License Setup and Activation page. For instance, if you are using a single-seat license, you will have to follow the instructions given in the Activating NI Software with a Single-Seat License article.


Additional Information

  • You must have the same versions of LabVIEW and Application Builder, and LabVIEW must be installed before you can use Application Builder.
  • LabVIEW Base, Full, and Professional installer comes with Application Builder Module Installer. 
  • It may be necessary to wait for 2 to 3 minutes for the activation to go through. It sometimes takes additional time for the system to process and activate your licensing.
