How to Deploy Custom Fonts with a LabVIEW Application

This article explains how to distribute custom fonts used by a LabVIEW application when deploying it to another computer. Use this procedure if your application relies on non-default fonts and you want to maintain a consistent user interface appearance across deployment systems.

  1. Add the font file to the LabVIEW project by right clicking My Computer>>Add>>File... and choosing the desired font file.

 

 

 

  1. Create an installer by right-clicking Build Specifications>>New>>Installer.
  2. Open the installer's Source Files page.
    Add the font file to the installer contents.

 

  1. Select a destination for the font file on the target system.
  2. Build the installer.
  3. Run the installer on the deployment computer.
  4. Install the font on the target operating system following the instructions in Add or Remove Fonts From LabVIEW. LabVIEW only recognizes fonts that are installed and registered with the operating system.
  5. Verify that the font appears in the operating system's installed font list.
  6. Launch the LabVIEW application and confirm that text, controls, and indicators display as expected.

Your custom font is available to the operating system and can be used by the deployed LabVIEW application. If the font is not installed, Windows may substitute a different font, which can affect text size, alignment, and front panel appearance
