What Link Does a cDAQ-9191 Use When Both Wireless and Wired Are Connected?

I have a cDAQ-9191 connected to my Ethernet network and my wireless network. Which connection is preferred in this case?

The cDAQ-9191 connection preference is determined by how it was connected.


Complete the following steps if you want your cDAQ-9191 to prefer a wired connection:
 

  1. Discover the device via a wired connection in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
  2. Configure the Ethernet settings for the chassis by selecting the Network Settings tab in MAX.
  3. Click Save.



Complete the following steps if you want your cDAQ-9191 to prefer a wireless connection:
 

  1. Discover the device via a wired connection in MAX.
  2. Configure the wireless settings for the chassis by selecting the Network Settings tab in MAX.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Unplug the Ethernet cable from the cDAQ-9191 chassis.
  5. Right-click on the NI cDAQ-9191 device under Devices and Interfaces and select Self-Test .
  6. Plug the Ethernet cable back in to the cDAQ-9191 chassis.

Additional Information

To revert the cDAQ-9191 from a wireless connection back to preferring a wired connection, change the Wireless Mode in the Network Settings tab to Disabled.
