I want to control my open-source computer (like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, etc) with LabVIEW. Therefore I want to install LINX for LabVIEW. How can I do that?

From VI Package Manager 2020:
  1. Open VI Package Manager, choose the version of LabVIEW (1) you want to install the package for and type in the Search Box, "Digilent LINX" (2)
  2. Right click on the package name and choose 'Install" (3)
  1. If applicable, check and accept any package dependencies.
  2. Accept the license agreement(s) to continue with the installation.
  3. After the installation, VIPM will show a summary. Check if there was any error during the installation. Otherwise, you are now ready to use LINX on LabVIEW.
or you can download the LabVIEW Hobbyist Toolkit from ni.com.

Additional Information

Digilent LINX is the successor of LabVIEW Interface for Arduino. Both packages are from the same software author who recommends migrating to LINX. LINX is designed to be a more generic hardware abstraction layer for embedded devices, rather than designed for just one specific microcontroller platform.

It is possible to download the LINX package directly via FTP. You will still need VIPM to install the package; however, you can use this approach to install LINX on a computer that is not connected to the internet itself.

If you are having problems using or installing software through VIPM, post a question to the JKI VIPM forums. VIPM is not a NI software, and any bugs or issues with VIPM are best supported by the VIPM developers.

Currently, there is no support for LabVIEW NXG.
