Can I use web-based installers in Volume License Installers (VLI) I create with NI Volume License Manager (VLM)?

Yes, you can use web-based installers in your Volume License Installers. Complete the following general steps to create a Volume License Installer using web-based installers.

NI Volume License Manager 3.1 and later

  1. Download the web-based installer you want to use.
  2. Extract the installer using one of the following methods:
    • From a command prompt, run the downloaded file with the option /extractOnly followed by a path to where you want the installer extracted. Example:
      LabVIEW_2014_Platform_ENG_WB.exe /extractOnly "c:\NI Downloads\LabVIEW 2014 Platform (web-based)"
    • Run the downloaded file, click Start to extract the files and launch the installer. When the installer starts, click Cancel.
  3. From within NI VLM, use the Volume License Installer Wizard to create your Volume License Installer using the installer you just extracted. You must have a working Internet connection to complete this step.
