Yes, it is possible to launch Test Panels without opening NI MAX with DAQmx and Traditional NI-DAQ.
Launching Test panels Using DAQmx
- Select Start » Run
- In the window that appears, type in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\nidmfpan.exe /host:<IP Address> /devid:<device name as it appears in NI MAX>.
- The /host input is required if you are accessing a remote device such as an RT PXI or RT cDAQ system.
- The /host input is not required if the device is connected to the local host.
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 to launch multiple test panels.
Note: If running this command on a 32-bit operating system, the file path may be different and/or unnecessary to run the test panel. If this is the case, you may try just running nidmfpan.exe without the file path.
Launch Test Panels Using Traditional NI-DAQ
- Select Start » Run.
- In the window that appears, type in nitpan32.exe.
- A prompt will appear asking you to select the appropriate DAQ board. Once a DAQ board is selected, a new test panel will open.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to open multiple test panels.
Additional Information
If you are using Traditional NI-DAQ, it's possible to create a shortcut to your traditional DAQ test panels on your desktop. To do so, you will have to copy and paste the icon called nitpan32 onto your desktop. This icon is located in various locations depending on your operating system.
