Note: LabVIEW 2023 Q3 is the final release of LabVIEW for macOS. Starting with releases in 2024, LabVIEW is available on Windows and Linux OSes.

Issue Details

I previously downloaded an Evaluation version of LabVIEW for macOS. However, when I open a LabVIEW Project, I only see "Source Distribution" under "Build Specifications". Can LabVIEW Evaluation for macOS build an executable?

Solution

No, LabVIEW for macOS Evaluation cannot build an application. You will need LabVIEW for macOS Professional Edition to use the full functionality of Application Builder.

Additional Information

  • Unlike LabVIEW for Windows OS, LabVIEW for macOS Evaluation does not have the same functionality as LabVIEW Professional Edition.
  • When you decide to move from the evaluation version to the licensed version of LabVIEW for macOS, installing the licensed version will upgrade the existing evaluation version. The reason you cannot activate the evaluation version with a serial number is that there is no License Manager for Mac OS X or Linux.
