This tutorial describes how to configure your NI 9469 Chassis Synchronization Module in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).

You must first install NI-DAQmx 9.6.0 or later in order to use the NI 9469. Access the latest NI-DAQmx driver through the NI DAQmx Driver download page.

  1. Under Devices and Interfaces click on any cDAQ chassis which contains a NI 9469, or the NI 9469 itself. Either Figure 1-1 or Figure 1-2 will be displayed.

If figure 1-1 is displayed, select the Synchronization Tab to get to Figure 1-2.

  2. Click Show Diagram.

This diagram shows you where each NI 9469 is in each chassis by its device name. There are three ports on the NI 9469. Port 0 is an input and Port 1 and 2 are outputs.

Troubleshooting

  • Ghost Modules:
If a ghost module appears as below, look for a NI 9469 module with a red X next to it under cDAQ1. Delete this module and the ghost module will disappear.
  • Error message: "This module does not support cDAQ sync."
This error occurs if modules are hot swapped and MAX is not refreshed. To correct this error, click Discover Connection and check the setup of your cDAQ chassis to see what is recognized in MAX.
