Issue Details

I am getting the following error when I try to add my Ethernet cDAQ-9189 chassis as a network device to my NI-DAQmx compatible Real-time Controller running Linux:

Find Network NI-DAQmx Devices Failed
The Find Network NI-DAQmx Devices operation failed because the connection to the MAX storage failed.

Solution

This error may be produced by different causes. The more common are related to the NI-DAQmx driver installation on the Real-Time target and the host PC. Try the following troubleshooting steps to get rid of this error:
  • Ensure that NI-DAQmx was installed on the controller. To do so, navigate to NI-MAX and click on  Remote Devices >> <Your Controller> >> Software. If the software is already installed on the target, verify that the version present in the controller is the same one that you have installed on your host PC. If there is a version mismatch, you can either upgrade or downgrade the driver present on the PC or the Real-Time target.
  • Reinstall NI-DAQmx on the controller.
  • Reformat your controller and reinstall the software to it
