How Do I Open EWB 5 Files in NI Multisim 12.0?

Issue Details

I have several Electronics Workbench 5 (EWB 5) files saved on my PC and would like to open them in Multisim 12.0. Is this possible?

Solution

NI Multisim 12.0 and later versions does not recognize EWB 5 files as a supported file type and as such you will not be able to load EWB 5 files directly into NI Multisim 12.0.

In order to view EWB 5 files in NI Multisim 12.0, you will first need to open them in an earlier version of NI Multisim where the EWB 5 file type is supported. For example, open the EWB 5 file in NI Multisim 11.0 and save the .ewb file as a .ms11 file. You will then be able to open the .ms11 file inside Multisim 12.0 and save it as a .ms12 file.

Additional Information

The same guidelines can be followed to open EWB 5 files in any versions later than NI Multisim 11.
