Issue Details

I'm seeing camera timeouts when I connect to my FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) robot on the field. Are there any changes I need to make to the FRC Dashboard to prevent this?

Follow the steps below to make sure your Dashboard includes the changes included in the 2019.2 FRC Update Suite.
  1. Make sure you have the most recent version of the NI Update Suite installed on all of your computers (your development machine(s), as well as the computer you use during matches).
  2. Update your Dashboard to the newest version.
    1. Download the file that is attached at the bottom of this document and extract it in your hard drive.
    2. Close all running applications in your computer (including LabVIEW, the FRC Dashboard and FRC Driver Station).
    3. Copy the Program Files (x86) folder
    4. Navigate yo your C:\ drive and paste the Program Files (x86) folder. Select the "replace" option to merge the contents and update the relevant VIs.
      1. Note for international teams: if your computer is not in English, copy the contents inside the Zip file's Program Files (x86) folder to your local Program Files (x86). (For example: Archivos de Programa (x86), in Spanish).
    5. If you're using the default Dashboard no other modifications are needed.
    6. If you are using a custom LabVIEW Dashboard:
      1. Open your Dashboard project in LabVIEW to reload the updated VIs.
      2. Add a way to check the robot's IP: use the path C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2018\vi.lib\Rock Robotics\WPI\Dashboard to open a File Explorer window, and drag/drop the file WPI_DashboardGet Robot directly to the Dashboard Main Block Diagram. Wire the required input, called the Notification Refnum, as shown below.

      3. Rebuild your dashboard by right-clicking on the Build Specification in your Project Explorer and selecting Build.
      4. Navigate to where you saved the new executable file (you can select the Explore option when the application finished building). Copy the new Dashboard.exe file over to the C:\Program Files (x86)\FRC Dashboard directory, replacing the existing one.
  3. If you keep having troubles with your camera, please continue troubleshooting with the instructions located in the following document: Robot Camera Images Not Appearing in FRC Dashboard
