Issue Details

Do I need to worry about putting PCIe cards next to each other in my computer? What thermal concerns should I consider when placing PCIe cards side by side in my computer?

In the scope of thermal considerations, putting PCIe cards next to each other should be fine as long as they stay within the operating temperatures specified in their Specification sheet. PCIe cards can output between 25 to 350 Watts, so thermal concerns are valid. Make sure to monitor temperature in your PC's chassis, or if you have certain DAQ cards, you can use it's onboard temperature sensor to monitor it's temperature. Review the Guidelines of Temperature Management for a more complete overview of this issue.
