Using cRIO Expansion Chassis with a cRIO 904x or cRIO 905x

Issue Details

I have a cRIO-9045, and I would like to get an expansion chassis to use with the cRIO.  Do the expansion chassis have the same DAQmx capabilities that the cRIO-9045 does?

Solution

The compactRIO expansion chassis are not compatible with NI-DAQmx like the cRIO 904x and cRIO 905x controller are.  The cRIO expansion chassis only have the FPGA and Scan Interface modes.

However, you can use an ethernet cDAQ chassis (cDAQ-9181/85/89) with the cRIO to expand the chassis and connect to the I/O using DAQmx.
