NI-USRP Configuration Utility Displays Incorrect Information

Issue Details

  • Whether the USRP is turned on or off, the same information is displayed on the NI Configuration Utility stating that image update is needed for the device:


 
  • I have a USRP device connected to the desktop via PCIe Express and MXI cable but in the NI Configuration Utility it shows that the USRP is also connected via Ethernet. Also, the image status is different for the two connections. Is NI Configuration Utility reading the right image?

Solution

This behaviour of NI-USRP Configuration Utility is usually caused by multiple USRP connections to the same host computer. In other words - this happens when you connect the USRP using PCIe card and MXI cable and also Ethernet connection at the same time:
  • Use only one connection for your USRP device at any given time (Ethernet cable or PCIe card)
  • Always turn on USRP first and then start the host computer
  • After performing the first two steps - if the behaviour still persists - restart the computer.
