Additional Information
Certain sets of VIs work on Windows PCs. Therefore, they can be used for simple testing, prototyping, and debugging on Windows PCs. For example, the following pair of example programs consists of such VIs and, therefore, can communicate with each other without NI Real-Time targets.
- Server: Access BCR.vi (found in IEC61850 MMS Server.lvproj)
- Client: Read BCR.vi (found in IEC61850 MMS Client.lvproj)
However, many of the VIs are supported only by NI Real-Time targets. Hence, to take full advantage of the driver, one should consider purchasing it on the basis that the actual program will be deployed to an NI Real-Time target. Refer to the Readme for hardware requirements for VIs.
