Issue Details

I have programmed code in LabVIEW to run on my roboRIO.  How do I set it to run whenever the roboRIO boots?

Solution

Open your LabVIEW project, and expand your roboRIO Target.  Under the target, expand Build Specifications.  Right click the deployment under this category, and select Build.  This will prepare the application and package it for use on the roboRIO.

Then select Set as Startup.  This will make the code run whenever the roboRIO restarts.

Additional Information

Normally, when you run code on your roboRIO, the code is deployed from your host computer to the roboRIO manually.  This is either done by starting the program, or by pressing Deploy in your LabVIEW project.  This deployment is not permanently stored on the roboRIO.  Therefore if you restart it, you will need to redeploy.

In order to make a permanent LabVIEW application that lives on the roboRIO, we will need to create a build specification.  This can then be set to run whenever the roboRIO restarts, as it does not need to be manually deployed.
