Issue Details

When I add an NI network DAQ device in NI MAX, I get the following error message.

"Device not supported - the device at this address is not supported by the drivers on this host."

What do I need to do to add an NI network DAQ device?

Solution

  1. Install DAQmx 17.6 or newer that is compatible with your development environment. This is the first version of the driver to support the majority of FieldDAQ devices. For further compatibility information, see the Readme for the version of DAQmx you plan on installing to verify Hardware, OS, and Development Environment compatibility.
  2. Use the NI Network Browser application to see what NI devices are on your network. You can use this to get the IP Address and Serial Number for any discovered network devices.
  3. Ensure you are adding the NI network DAQ device under My System >> Devices and Interfaces >> Network Devices. You can see this error message if you add the NI network DAQ device under Remote Systems which is intended for Real-Time systems like CompactRIO, Real-Time PXI, or Industrial Controllers.
