Issue Details

I am using the NI-9472 to create PWM signals.  I have created counter output tasks for the NI-9472 using NI-DAQmx, but I am not sure which channels I need to connect to in order to read the counter outputs of the NI-9472.

Solution

The correct terminal wiring for the NI-9472 can be found when you open MAX >> your cDAQ chassis >> NI-9472 module >> Device Pinouts.

The mapping is as shown below:
Counter/Timer SignalDefault Pin/Channel NumberSignal Name
CTR 0 OUT3PFI 3
CTR 1 OUT7PFI 7
CTR 2 OUT1PFI 1
CTR 3 OUT5PFI 5
FREQ OUT2PFI 2

Additional Information

Although the NI-9472 has 8 output channels, when it is used in a cDAQ chassis, it will be limited to 4 counter output tasks because there are 4 counters available on a cDAQ chassis .
