Issue Details

The PXI(e) card in my chassis will not perform a Self-Calibration on MAX. I'm getting the following error message:

Status Code: -201295

Device could not complete the calibration operation.

Calibration could fail for the following reasons:

1. The actual reference signal applied for calibration was different from the value you specified.
Ensure that the reference signal applied is the same as the values that were input.

2. The reference signal was not stable over the period of time that the hardware was being calibrated.
Ensure that the reference signal specified is free of noise and does not drift over the duration
of the calibration.

3. The device is not functioning properly.

Solution

There are multiple reasons that could be the issue when this message appears:
  1. Make sure no external cables are connected to the card during the self-calibration.
  2. Ensure your DAQmx driver is properly installed by trying to perform simple input or output tests via MAX Test Panels with another device.
  3. If you have Windows 7 or earlier, download the DAQ Diagnostic Utility and perform a test on your device. Ensure everything has passed.
  4. Reset the MAX configuration database and reset the device. Once the computer reboots, try the calibration again.
  5. If you are using a PCI device for PXI remote control, connected to the chassis via Multisystem eXtension Interface (MXI) or MXI-Express connection, go through the MXI-Express Compatibility and Connectivity Troubleshooting Guide article's steps.
If none of this works, contact NI technical support.
