Why Can’t I See the Configuration Dialog for DAQ Assistant?

Issue Details

I can see my device from NI MAX and use test panels. But when placing the DAQ Assistant block on LabVIEW it does not open the configuration dialog.

Why can't I configure my device from LabVIEW

Solution

  • Use this compatibility table to check which version of DAQmx is compatible with your version of LabVIEW.
  • Go to this link to download the right version the driver. 
  • Follow the steps on this article to uninstall your current version of DAQmx.
  • Run the installer you downloaded on step two.

Additional Information

This issue happens because of incompatible versions of LabVIEW and DAQmx. Since there is a version of the driver installed in your system, you may be able to see your devices from NI MAX and even use test panels. But LabVIEW may encounter issues when trying to use functions from the DAQmx API.
