Issue Details

I'm using the 2018 version of the Functional Safety Editor, and I've found that I am unable to add a transition condition to new state transitions. I am able to wire a transition between two states. However, when I click on the transition priority label or the transition wire, and try to edit the transition condition in the right toolbar, the text does not stay. After I click away from the dialog, it returns to its empty state. Why does this happen, and how can I work around it?

Solution

This is a known issue and has been reported to National Instruments. It has a Corrective Action Request (CAR) filed under reference number 726500. Additionally, you can avoid this issue by right-clicking on the transition wire and choosing the option "create transition condition." This will create a transition condition in the state diagram which you can edit. With this method, any added text will remain intact.

Additional Information

For more information on the CAR you can check the FSE Known Issues Page . Additionally, any fixes applied in an update will be referenced by their CAR number in the readme.
