Self Test Failure with PXIe Chassis in NI MAX: Unable to Communicate With the Hardware

Issue Details

I get an error when I try to self test my PXI or PXIe chassis. I can still see all of the modules inside, but a failure occurs when I perform the self test in NI MAX. There is no error code associated with the failure. It then says to contact National Instruments.

Solution

Prior to calling in to NI, restart your computer and the chassis. Ensure you are powering them up in the right order - chassis, wait a few seconds, then computer. If you are using a MXI connection, refer to the MXI troubleshooting guide . If problems persist, then contact NI Support.
