NI-DMM Soft Front Panel Did Not Detect Any NI-DMM Instruments in the System

Issue Details

I get the following error from NI-DMM Soft Front Panel:

NI-DMM Soft Front Panel did not detect any NI-DMM instruments in the system. You may need to run the National Instruments Measurements & Automation Explorer (MAX) application to detect any instruments you may have installed

Solution

The Soft Front Panel will return this error when it does not detect any NI-DMM instruments. If the NI-DMM is in a PXI chassis and the PXI chassis and its modules are not visible in MAX, then the following two guides provide troubleshooting steps to connect to your PXI chassis if you are using a MXI or Thunderbolt cable.
