Error: 'Failed to load dll:DIAView.dll' After Installing DIAdem

Issue Details

I receive the following error after installing DIAdem on my computer:

Error: Failed to load dll: DIAView.dll

How can I resolve this?

Solution

It is possible that you are missing a DLL that is part of the Visual Studio 2015 Runtime. This runtime is installed automatically together with DIAdem. 
  1. Check the file location c:\Windows\System32\ for the DLL called vcomp140.dll
  2. If you are missing this file, download the whole "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015"  64 bit version from Microsoft.
  3. If you can find the vcomp140.dll under c:\Windows\System32\ folder, you can still try to uninstall and reinstall "Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015" 64 bit version from Microsoft.
