Vision Builder AI 2018 Crashes While Editing Vision Assistant Inspection Step

Issue Details

Sometimes when I edit a Vision Assistant step in Vision Builder for Automated Inspection (VBAI), VBAI crashes.

Solution

This is a known issue in VBAI 2018 32-bit and 64-bit.  The crash will not always occur.  Some inspections may crash while other inspections do not crash.  If the crash does occur, it will always occur when the Edit button is pressed in the Vision Assistant step.

In order to avoid this crash, replace the VAA.llb file with the correct one from the VBAI VAA Crash Fix.zip file:
  • If you are using VBAI 32-bit, you should replace the VAA.llb located under: C:\Program Files(x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 2018\VAA with the VAA.llb in the 32-bit folder of the attachment.
  • If you are using VBAI 64-bit, you should replace the VAA.llb located under: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 2018\VAA with the VAA.llb in the 64-bit folder of the attachment.
