Texts in Icon Editor Get Blurry

Issue Details

When I add text to my VI icon in the LabVIEW Icon Editor, the texts are blurry if I set the font size to smaller than 10. Text appears normal when the font size is set larger than 11, but then the font size is too big to fit into the Icon.




 

Solution

  • This may occur for some fonts that are more detailed than the default and appear pixelated. To improve visualization, try different fonts including the default Small Fonts.
  • In some Windows installations the default Small Fonts can be incorrect or missing. If this font is used, make sure that it's showing correctly under Control Panel>>Fonts>>Small Fonts Regular.

  • This could also be caused by anti-aliasing by Operating System which can be resolved by the following methods:
  • Modify the LabVIEW.ini file
    1. Open the LabVIEW configuration file for your OS.
    2. Add FontCodePageList=Small Fonts,1252 . Save and restart LabVIEW.
  • Change the Region in Windows
    1. Navigate to Control Panel>>Region>>Formats. Set Format to English (United States) and relaunch LabVIEW.
