NI MAX Does Not Show Remote Systems Tab or Devices on My Network

Devices will only appear under 'Remote Systems' tab in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) if they are Real-Time OS systems.

Devices running Windows OS will not be seen under Remote Systems of a separate PC on the same network. Instead, they should be accessed through the Windows Remote Desktop Connection application.

Not seeing Real-Time devices under the 'Remote Systems' tab or the tab itself is explicitly caused by NI MAX. The issue can be solved by following one or more of these steps:

Make sure the correct driver version is installed.
Make sure that firewalls are not blocking the connection of your device to your computer.
Try a NI MAX Configuration Database Reset.
Force reinstall your driver.
Force reinstall the System Configuration installer.
If the device still is not shown in under the 'Remote Devices' tab, then it may be a connectivity issue. That can be solved by following the steps found in NI CompactRIO or Network Device Doesn't Show Up or is Missing in MAX .
