Issue Details

Although Quick Drop is good to use, the default shortcut is Ctrl + Space. It seems to conflict with the shortcut of my OS.

Solution

Quick Drop is a function provided in LabVIEW 8.6 version or later. This function is used to find the item in the Front Panel and Block Diagram rapidly without searching on the Functions Palette Controls Palette or Global search.

To use Quick Drop function, press Ctrl + Space and the list will show all available VI. A user can select the VI needed and place on the Block Diagram.

However, Ctrl + Space has already been used as a shortcut in Windows to switch input language in some localized OS(Operating System) such as Traditional Chinese (Taiwan). If pressing Ctrl + Space, the Windows system will switch input language but not open the Quick Drop.

As a result, to use the Quick Drop through a shortcut in these OS, you need to change the shortcut of the Quick Drop by selecting Tools >> Options in LabVIEW and select Quick Drop in Menu Shortcuts tab. Then, change to preferred shortcut, like Ctrl + Shift + Space, so that user can use new shortcut to call Quick Drop.
