Issue Details

I am outputting a signal from two PXI cards and I want one of them to send its signal and the other to wait before outputting. How can I do this with high precision?

Solution

One way to do this is to start by sending two signals from the first card. One signal is the regular output you are sending and the other is a "dummy" signal that will be a logical high. The duration that the dummy signal is high is the length of the wait. You can then trigger the output of the second device with the falling edge of the dummy signal.

This method is hardware timed and has all of the precision associated with hardware timing on the PXI platform.
