One user wants to transfer his computer-based licenses to another computer because he needs a replacement. Is it possible to update the NI Volume License Manager (NI VLM) configuration from the client computer?
There is not a way to update the NI VLM information from the client computer, the new computer name should be sent to the primary software administrator to be updated on the server.
The nilm.opt file is in charge of pulling all the information from the permissions that were set directly on NI VLM, so if the computer name is now different, the end user needs to communicate the new machine name to the software administrator to update the information on the server so it can be pulled by this file.
