Note: NI removed support for Phar Lap for PXI in the NI 2022 Software Release. For more information, please see the Phar Lap RT OS EOL Road Map.

  1. You should have your hardware set up and connected before installing the software. Refer to the user manual for more information.
  2. Download the driver from the Astronics Ballard Avionics Driver download page.
  3. Extract the files. There is a 32 and 64-bit installer. Run the installer that matches the operating system bitness.
  4. Follow the installer prompts.
  5. On Custom Setup, make sure LabVIEW Real-Time Drivers is enabled.
  1. Click Install to begin the installation. Once the installation is complete, the Driver Wizard should detect the card.
  1. On the Phar Lap ETS RT target, install Astronics Ballard Technology Driver Support and NI-VISA driver. Refer to Installing Software on Phar Lap Real-Time (RT) PXI Controller for step-by-step instructions.

After installation is complete, you should see the Astronics Ballard card in Measurement and Automation Explorer under Remote Systems. The card is ready to be used. Refer to the user manual for operation instructions.

Note: The card will not show up in the BTITST32 application that installs with the Ballard driver. Real-time devices will not show up in Windows Device Manager.
