LabVIEW Freezes at VISA Close Function

Issue Details

I am running a LabVIEW program using the NI VISA functions. The program freezes up when the VISA Close function, or other VISA function, is reached. I need to force quit and restart my computer to continue. How do I solve this?

Solution

This issue can occur because of errors in termination characters or corruption of the NI-VISA driver. Make sure that the termination characters in NI-VISA are formatted correctly. If you still see the issue, uninstall and reinstall or repair the NI-VISA driver:

If you are using NI Package manager, uninstall and reinstall the NI-VISA driver .
If you are not using NI Package manager, repair the NI-VISA driver .

Additional Information

Ensure that you have the correct version of NI-VISA for the version of LabVIEW that you are using installed.
