Cannot Activate New Versions of My NI Software with Old License File?

Issue Details

We have an Enterprise Agreement National Instruments. Since a while back, I have LabVIEW 2016 installed on an offline PC with a license file generated from our volume license server. I have now installed LabVIEW 2018 on the same PC. When I look in NI license manager it says it's an evaluation version and it is not licensed. As I understood it, it should be activated by itself since we already have a license file installed on that PC. What is the problem? 

Solution

The current license file on the offline PC needs to be updated from the server to include the latest licensed software. By generating a new license file from the server and import it to your offline PC, LabVIEW 2018 should be listed as licensed, just as your LabVIEW 2016 install.
