Can I Perform Image Fusion in NI LabVIEW?

Image fusion can be performed in NI LabVIEW and there is an example program available for the same.

You can locate the Image Fusion example by following the steps mentioned in the document : Using NI example Finder and searching for Image Fusion in the Search Field as mentioned in the snippet below:

This example computes the detail and approximation coefficients of two images with the WA Discrete Wavelet Transform VI, merges the resulting coefficients, and computes the fusion image with the WA Inverse Discrete Wavelet Transform VI.

Additional Information

Image fusion example basically merges images from different sources and modalities into a single image. The purpose of image fusion is to extract useful information from difference sources without introducing artifacts. The DWT-based image fusion method merges images in the wavelet-transform domain. The DWT method retains the sharp contrast information from all source images and provides both spatial and frequency localization.

You will need to install the LabVIEW Advanced Signal Processing toolkit to work with the mentioned example.
