Issue Details

  • How Can I Access the Multicast, Unicast or Broadcast Mode of my IEEE-1394 or GigE Camera in the Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX).
  • I got the error "Camera not found" when running Grab and Broadcast (Listener) example VI.

Solution

The attributes for a given camera are stored on the device itself. National Instruments Measurement & Automation Explorer retrieves these attributes from the camera. To determine whether your camera has this attribute, review the manual for your camera.

Camera attributes, camera information, acquisition attributes and status information can all be accessed from the Camera Attributes tab when the View Options are set to All Attributes.

The Destination Mode attribute can be accessed under AcquisitionAttributes»AdvancedEthernet»Controller»DestinationMode. The 3 modes available for this particular GigE camera are MulticastUnicast and Broadcast. Note that not all cameras support this attribute.
