Issue Details

My library in LabWindows/CVI is grayed out, and my program doesn't build. How can I resolve this?

Solution

The library is not being loaded automatically by LabWindows/CVI. Verify this by opening up the Customize Library Menu: Right-Click the Libraries folder >> Customize Library Menu:

Make sure the checkbox next to your library is checked. If this is a third party library you will need to click on the Add button and add the .fp file of the library:

After this process, click OK and restart LabWindows/CVI for the changes to take effect.

Additional Information

For libraries related to NI drivers, this issue can also be caused by the library not being properly installed on your computer. For example: If attempting to use the NI-DAQmx library in LabWindows/CVI, the "NI-DAQmx Support for CVI" option must be selected when installing the NI-DAQmx driver in order to gain access to the library in LabWindows/CVI. If you have already installed an NI driver and want to make sure that the proper install options were selected, please see the NI Knowledge Base article Modify NI Software in NI Package Manager to learn more about verifying or modifying your NI software installation options.
