I am looking for the End User License Agreements (EULA) for NI software. Where can I find them?

Solution

All of NI's software is covered by NI's General Purpose Software License Agreement. This includes development environments, modules, toolkits, and drivers.

To see if any additional End User License Agreements are in effect for installed software on a Windows machine, navigate to Program Files(x86)>>National Instruments>>Shared>>MDF>>Legal>>License. This provides a list of all EULAs associated with NI software installed on your machine. Note that not all of the licenses at \National Instruments\Shared\MDF\Legal\license apply to all of NI's Software.

Here's how to find the licenses that apply to a specific software component:
In this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\_Legal Information, check for folders that start with the name of the program for example if you are looking for the license agreements that apply to the LabWindows™/CVI™ Run-Time Engine search for the folders that start with NI LabWindows_CVI. Those folders have the version of the runtime engine and contain notices and some of them have links to third-party license agreements which are located at (...\Shared\MDF\Legal\license). They point to specific pdfs which are the licenses that apply to that software component.

For example, in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\_Legal Information\NI LabWindows_CVI 2019 Network Streams Library 19.00.49152 {EEA5281C-7DA9-492E-8F6F-4127DC67AAD6} there is a notice which points to this EULA: "Boost Software License 1.0" which can be found at "..\..\Shared\MDF\Legal\license\Boost\1.0.0".

If the component doesn't have any third-party license agreement, then it will be licensed by NI pursuant to the applicable NI software license agreement (General Purpose Software License Agreement).

Additional Information

Older software EULAs may also be found at Program Files(x86)>>National Instruments>>Shared>>EULAs.
