Issue Details

I have an Ethernet cDAQ device configured in 'Link Local Only' mode and connected to my router. My host PC connects through the same router, but it cannot see the chassis. What can I do to see my network cDAQ chassis?

Solution

Some routers have a Proxy ARP  feature. This feature is enabled by default. When enabled the proxy-APR may cause the cDAQ and host PC to not be able to communicate effectively when the cDAQ is configured for 'Link Local Only'.

Additional Information

If you must use your Ethernet cDAQ in Link Local Only mode when connected to a router, NI recommends disabling the arp-proxy or Proxy ARP feature on your router to ensure proper operation.
