Differences Between DAQmx Base and DAQmx for Linux

I am trying to use my DAQ device with Linux, but I'm seeing both DAQmx for Linux and DAQmx Base for Linux when I search for a driver. Which should I use?

Solution

Note:  The last version of the NI-DAQmx Base driver available for download is 15.0. Please check compatibility for Windows , Linux, and macOS for supported versions of this driver. Starting 2018, NI-DAQmx for Linux is included with the NI Linux Device Drivers. For more information, please read the End-of-Life Announcement for DAQmx Base Driver.


Overall, DAQmx for Linux has support for a much greater range of products with the same OS support, so it should be used in most cases. However, make sure to check the READMEs for both of these to ensure that your product is supported by whatever driver you are using.
