Driver

  • NI CompactRIO

Issue Details

  • The POWER and STATUS LEDs on my cRIO continually flicking simultaneously while being connected to a power supply. There is no module inside the chassis. All the other LEDs are off.
  • When I plug my Compact RIO to the power supply, the power LED starts blinking green. I have the Compact RIO drivers installed compact RIO device drivers . I have tried to detect my device on my computer through USB and Ethernet but could not see it on MAX nor the device manager.

Solution

  • The power supply used for cRIO cannot provide enough maximum power supply. You can use a Multimeter to measure the voltage difference across the power supply and then confirm enough power is being supplied to the cRIO. The power required by the cRIO is stated in the manual for your cRIO, and on the cRIO next to the power connector.
Therefore, the issue has been resolved by changing to another power supply which provided higher current input.
  • This particular behaviour is not listed on the power LED status table. This might indicate that the device is faulty and it needs to be repair. Please contact NI for looking forward on to troubleshooting or repair services.
