USB Dongle for TestStand Debug Deployment Requires a New License File for a New Version

Issue Details

I have a NI TestStand Debug Deployment USB Key (Dongle). We upgraded to a new version of TestStand (or LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI) and the USB key does not license this version anymore.
What do I need to do to update the license to the new software version on the USB Key (Dongle)?

Solution

You need to request a new license file and put it on your NI TestStand Debug Deployment USB Key (Dongle).
To request a license file, send an email to USBKeyLicenseRequest@ni.com and include the following information for each product you want to use:
  • product name (e.g. TestStand 2017)
  • serial number
  • NI USB Key ID (The NI USB Key ID is printed on the NI USB Key)
When you receive the license file back follow the instructions to load the license file onto your NI USB Key described inĀ Using an NI TestStand Debug Deployment Environment USB Key

Additional Information

Customers who are not on the current version of NI TestStand and are not on an SSP contract for the NI TestStand USB Key Debug Deployment License will need to purchase an upgrade if they want to use the current version.
