Can My SMU Source and Simultaneously Measure Current and Voltage?

Issue Details

I am trying to use an SMU to source current or voltage, but I want to simultaneously measure the current and voltage across the load. Is this possible with an SMU? Do I need any additional ammeters or voltmeters?

Solution

The SMU itself is capable of sourcing current or voltage while simultaneously measuring the current and voltage across the load or device under test (DUT). This is one of the advantages of using SMU's over traditional power supplies.

The current and voltage being measured by the SMU will be reflected in the NI-DCPower Soft Front Panel or, if you're programming in LabVIEW, you can use the niDCPower Fetch or Measure VI's to get these values.
