Issue Details

I want to share variables between my host PC and a Real-Time PXI target. I am also using the security feature of the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module so users have to log in with their user name and password in the NI Security Domain to have the corresponding privileges to read and write the variables. However when I put the NI Security Programmatic Login VI to the target application I receive an error message when deploying the application to the real-time device.
How do I use the security feature of the DSC toolkit on real-time targets?

Solution

The DSC module is not supported on real-time. Thus the features of the DSC module that you're trying to use will have errors since they're not supported on Real-Time.
DSC is used to read and write with an OPC server. An OPCDA layer is built on Microsoft DCOM layer. Because it is a Microsoft Microsoft feature it's only on Windows computers.
