Solution
A problem related to saving the settings of the Ethernet adapter was found in the firmware of the cDAQ chassis. Upgrading it to the latest version as explained in
Firmware Information for NI CompactDAQ Network Chassis should fix the issue.
Moreover, check that the device is not
reserved by this or another PC.
If the problem persists:
- Remove device in NI-MAX
- Disconnect Chassis connection to PC
- Reset device by holding down the reset button for 5 seconds
- Remove power to the Chassis
- Connect Chassis to host computer
- Power on Chassis
- Change IP address
With the most up to date firmware and resetting steps above the Chassis should be able to have its IP address change without the initial error showing up in NI MAX
