Issue Details

I have a sensor that has a male BNC output, but the module that I'm taking inputs on has a screw or spring terminal input. Do I need additional hardware to connect these devices?

Solution

There are multiple ways to connect BNC to wire terminals.

  • You can purchase a BNC to wire terminal adapter.
  • Strip the BNC cable and connect the resulting two bare wires to the screw terminal.
  • Wrap one wire around the BNC output wire (the inner metal connection) for the signal out, and another wire around the outside of the BNC terminal (the ground connection). You can then connect both of those wires to a wire input.
