Issue Details

  • What happens if my Integrated Stepper Motor (ISM) is disconnected from my host PC during use? Will it automatically halt the motor? Do limit switches stay active?
  • Is there a heartbeat between my ISM and my host PC?

Solution

There is not a heartbeat between the ISM and the host PC. If the motor is disconnected in the middle of a move, error -70229 will occur in LabVIEW, and the motor will complete the commanded move. The motor is programmed this way to ensure that network traffic flooding, etc. will not interrupt a commanded move.

Hardware limit switches will still halt the motor.
