Issue Details

I have a TSN-enabled cRIO controller (9035 sync, 9039 sync, 904x, 905x) and I would like to daisy chain it off of another controller like how I can daisy chain the 9185/9 TSN-enabled cDAQs. Is this possible?

Solution

No, cRIO controllers do not have daisy chain functionality. CompactRIO controllers have a dedicated network interface card (NIC) for each port, so they are unable to route traffic from one port to the other. This is a hardware limitation of the cRIOs and means that both ports cannot be on the same subnet or they will both try to access the subnet and may block one another.

The cDAQ-9185/9 does have an integrated switch, so it is able to provide daisy chaining functionality and both ports can reside on the same subnet.
