DB Open Connection.vi With String Input Does Not Work Correctly in LabVIEW

Issue Details

When using the DB Tools Open Connection VI, using the prompt to choose the location of the DB, then everything works. If I hardcode the same string and don't use the prompt, the DB can't be found. No matter what I put in, it searches the application's directory in Program Files for the database. However, if I use the prompt, and don't remove the VI from memory, I can hardcode the string and it will work without issues.

Solution

If you are using the String to connect to your database, place the offline database in the Program Files location.

Additional Information

You can also create a UDL file programatically and work with your database using a .udl instead of a connection string.
