How Do I Communicate to a PLC Using LabVIEW?

Environment

I have a PLC and want to communicate with it using LabVIEW or other NI products. What should I use?

NI offers many options for interfacing with PLCs.

NI OPC Servers
Datalogging and Supervisory Control (DSC) Module
Communication utilizing the OPC UA protocol in LabVIEW
Communication over EtherNet/IP using LabVIEW
Communication over DeviceNet using LabVIEW and compatible CompactRIO / PXI / PCI Hardware.
Communication over Modbus using LabVIEW with the Modbus API. The Modbus API is a free unsupported library. Modbus communication is also possible through the DSC Module and the OPC Servers.
