Authentication Error When Connecting to an AXIS Camera Using CompactRIO

Issue Details

When I try to connect to an AXIS camera that is connected to a CompactRIO, I get the following Authentication Error: 

The camera is configured with password authentication and either the user name and password were not configured or they are incorrect.

Error 0xBFF69034
 

Solution

On some AXIS cameras, the CompactRIO cannot properly authenticate as a valid network client. In order to connect, you must check the enable anonymous viewer login (no user name or password required). 

This setting can be modified on the Users configuration page under Setup » Basic Configuration » Users as shown below:


Enabling this checkbox will allow for anyone to be able to view the video stream originating from the camera.
